Welcome to Taro (“the Platform”), a digital membership service that provides access to recipes, meal plans, educational content, and a community space centred on African foods and wellness.

By accessing or using Taro, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”), which form a legally binding agreement between you and Taro (“we,” “us,” or “our”). Please read carefully.


1. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use this Platform.

  • By joining, you confirm that you are legally able to enter into this agreement.


2. Membership & Subscriptions

  • Taro offers subscription-based memberships, including monthly, quarterly, and annual plans.

  • Your membership grants access to recipes, meal plans, resources, and the Taro community (“Member Content”).

  • Prices are listed in your Great British Pounds. Taxes may apply depending on your jurisdiction.

  • Memberships automatically renew unless canceled before the renewal date.


3. Payments, Renewals & Cancellations

  • Payments are processed securely through our third-party payment providers. We do not store your payment details.

  • You may cancel your membership at any time from your account settings. Access will continue until the end of your current billing period.

  • Refunds are not generally offered, but exceptions may be made where required by law.

  • Taro is not liable for indirect damages, data loss, or issues caused by third-party providers.

  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, any liability is limited to the membership fees you paid in the 12 months prior to a claim.


4. Use of Platform

  • Membership grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use Taro content.

  • You may not copy, redistribute, or resell recipes, resources, or other materials without our written consent.

  • Our educational resources (e.g., portion control plate, hunger scale) are for personal use only.


5. Community Guidelines

  • Respectful and inclusive interaction is expected in all forums and discussions.

  • Content that is offensive, discriminatory, or harmful will result in removal and/or account suspension.

  • Do not share your login with others.


6. Intellectual Property

  • All recipes, resources, images, videos, and written content on Taro are our intellectual property, unless otherwise credited.

  • Taro specifically protects the representation of African foods, recipes, and nutrition systems provided on the platform.

  • You may not use our content for commercial purposes or use of your own platform without permission.


7. Health Disclaimer

  • Taro Platform provides general nutrition and wellness information for educational and informational purposes only.

  • We are not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult your doctor before starting a new diet or health program.

  • Results vary. Weight loss, maintenance, or gain depends on individual factors. 

  • We do not guarantee weight loss, improved health outcomes, or achievement of any specific results.

  • By using The Taro Platform, you acknowledge that you are solely responsible for your own health outcomes.

  • The Taro Platform, its founders, affiliates, and contributors shall not be held liable for any injuries, adverse effects, or lack of results arising directly or indirectly from the use of our content, products, or services. 

  • Your use of the platform is at your own risk.

  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, any liability is limited to the membership fees you paid in the 12 months prior to a claim.

9. Termination

  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

  • You may terminate your membership at any time by canceling your subscription.


10. Limitation of Liability

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Taro.

  • To the extent permitted by law, our total liability shall not exceed the fees paid for your membership in the last 12 months.


11. Governing Law

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom, unless otherwise required by your local consumer protection laws.

13. Email Communication and Member Updates

  • By becoming a member of The Taro Club, you agree to receive essential communications related to your membership. This includes updates about new recipes, meal plans, community activities, challenges, and general service information.
  • We may also send occasional wellness tips or Taro-related news that we believe will enhance your member experience.
  • You can opt out of non-essential marketing emails at any time by clicking “unsubscribe” in any email you receive. However, core membership emails cannot be unsubscribed from, as they are necessary for delivering the service you have purchased.
